Sponsorship

Who needs a sponsored E-ICAM account?
Any Army IT user who does not possess a Common Access Card (CAC)

How do Army IT users without CAC obtain a sponsor?
Sponsors must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a DoD CAC
- Brach of Service is Army
- Personnel Type Code (PTC) is one of the following: MIL, CIV or NAF
- Is a U.S. Citizen
- Is an Officer or Warrant Officer OR their pay grade is equal or greater than E7, GS12, NH03 and NJ04

Or Active Military (regardless of citizenship) may sponsor:
- Possess a DoD CAC
- Brach of Service is Army
- Personnel Type Code (PTC) MIL
- Is a U.S. Citizen
- Pay grade is equal or greater than E7 - including officers

Alternative MFA

What is alternative Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
A secure method to verify a user's digital identity without a CAC

What types of alternative MFAs are available to Army IT users?
Army E-ICAM has the following MFA platforms for users who possess either a CAC or sponsored account:
- MobileConnect An app available for both Android and iOS
- Yubikey A hardware token a user plugs into their laptops USB port
- External Certificate Authority A certificate that is procured from an approved DoD External Certificate Authority
